Hello, Kindergarten Families!
Today, your student brought home a revised homework packet for 4th quarter. When you review, you will find that one of the columns on the homework cover sheet includes the option of reading a fluency passage. The attached passage will include a short paragraph with a required response to demonstrate comprehension. Though the written response may be completed in one-sitting, the passage can be reread multiple times to build accuracy with speed. For some students, I included more than one passage at more than one reading level. I look forward to hearing your feedback to this additional homework activity.
I would like to extend a warm THANK-YOU to the amazing chaperones that made our trip to Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park such an amazing success! All of our students had an exciting, fun-filled day. If chaperones have photos to share, please consider using this Google Folder. We are very much looking forward to our last field trip of the year (April 26th) and we are so grateful for all of your help making the kindergarten year a memorable one.
Also, we were recently informed that transportation costs for our April trip are going to be more than anticipated. Our front office team has been working tirelessly to secure the most reasonable, cost-effective bus contract. We are awaiting confirmation on the final transportation fee amount but can anticipate that the trip will cost an additional $4-5 per student. Once confirmed, that amount will be requested of each participating kindergartner. I will be sure to let you know as soon as I know more (hopefully by Monday). Transportation fees will have to be collected by April 5th and I realize that not all families may be in a position to do so. If you are willing and interested in sponsoring a student (in addition to your own) or making a larger donation to help mitigate these transportation costs, please let me know.
