Welcome to 2019 and our second semester together at ASU Prep!
It has been wonderful reconnecting with my kindergarten friends this week. We have spent our time reviewing classroom routines, procedures, behavior expectations, and individual responsibility. Everyone has been doing an amazing job and I am so excited for the weeks ahead!
Thank you to those who were able to schedule and attend an ILP meeting or conference. I so appreciate and value your time. I will be sharing the ILP notes and goals via email, so please stay tuned for that additional email from me. I know that a few conferences need to be rescheduled and I hope to have that squared away by next week. Thank you for your continued support.
There was a tremendous level of participation with Winter Break homework - more completed than I've ever seen! (So much so, Mrs. Davis has to go out to pick up a few more prizes!) Prizes will be awarded on Monday, and our next homework packet will be distributed on Wednesday. Please note that the packet will look much the same but, with some simple additions. As always, I am open to your feedback and suggestions, so please look it over and let me know what you think.
Today, students were sent home with the extra clothing stored in the classroom in case of emergency. Being that it is a new year and our students are growing like weeds(!), I'd like to ask that you please check these items to be sure that they still fit your child. Please return the bag with a change of clothes - perhaps some exchanges will need to be made, perhaps not. If we didn't have extra clothes for your child, he/she was sent home with an empty bag to collect these items. Also, our school office is in short supply of new socks and underwear for such emergencies. If you'd like to earn volunteer credit, they are accepting donations. Thank you!
Finally, please be sure to bookmark our classroom website at: http://kdavisasuprep.weebly.com/.
There is a variety of information available, including snack calendars, lunch payment links, important dates, and homework. Also, I recently added more classroom songs, resources for practicing sight words, and favorite online resources/tools.
